Premium Home Delivery – smarter home deliveries

Premium Home Delivery gives online retailers smarter, more secure home delivery – fully automatically. The service is based on a unique delivery data platform that ensures each consignment is delivered to the right address according to the product type and delivery conditions. Delivery is always early in the morning, in time for the morning coffee. Like Home Delivery, the service carries the Nordic Swan Ecolabel.

Why choose Premium Home Delivery?

Three steps from your flow to the customer's mailbox or door, without the recipient needing to be present at a specific time.

  1. Unique delivery data platform

Premium Home Delivery is based on an extensive delivery data platform with detailed information about each address: property type, delivery point type and temperature classification. This means each delivery can be adapted automatically to the address's actual conditions, without the recipient needing to make a single active choice.

  2. Nordic Swan Ecolabelled delivery

Early Bird's Premium Home Delivery carries the Nordic Swan Ecolabel – an independent ecolabel that sets stringent requirements for climate impact, sustainability and responsibility throughout the delivery chain. Early Bird's Home Delivery is climate-smart, without compromising on speed or convenience.

  3. Tailored to the online retailer's needs

Based on the online retailer's needs, we decide which address types can receive which types of consignment. If the online retailer sells medicines or other regulated products, they are delivered only when we know they will fit in the mailbox and are not at risk of being left unprotected.

What is Premium Home Delivery?

Premium Home Delivery is an add-on to Home Delivery for online retailers that want to offer smarter, more secure delivery – fully automatically, without the recipient needing to make active choices. The service is based on an extensive delivery data platform with detailed information about each address: property type, delivery point type, temperature classification and more. This information allows each delivery to be adapted to both regulations and specific conditions. Regulated products such as medicines can be delivered all the way home when we know the consignment will fit in the mailbox, and temperature-sensitive products are sent only to addresses where we can guarantee indoor delivery. The result is the same fast morning delivery as Home Delivery, but with automatic adaptation that makes the service suitable for categories where standard delivery is not enough. Safer for the recipient, smarter for the online retailer and sustainable.

The parcel's journey

From the online retailer's warehouse to the recipient's door or mailbox.

Online retailer

The recipient adds an item to their basket and proceeds to checkout. Based on the delivery address and parcel weight, we check whether Early Bird Premium Home Delivery is available. The order is then packed by the online retailer, and the recipient receives an order confirmation stating that the parcel will be shipped with Early Bird.

Transport

The online retailer hands the parcel over to Early Bird. The recipient receives a "parcel on its way" notification together with a tracking link.

Delivery

Early Bird delivers the parcel to the recipient's door or mailbox by 07:00. The recipient is notified where the parcel has been left.

Make the return as convenient as the delivery

With our Returns service, your customer can easily book a return from home, and we then collect the parcel from the door or mailbox. Convenient for the customer and simple for you.

Frequently asked questions about Premium Home Delivery

What kind of data does your database contain?

We currently hold information on housing type (detached or terraced house, or apartment), delivery point type (apartment mailbox, mailbox or letter slot), and temperature classification (warm or cold delivery location). We continuously enrich the database with new information.

What is the difference between Home Delivery and Premium Home Delivery?

The physical handling is the same: parcels are delivered all the way to the recipient's home. The difference arises at booking. Based on how the online retailer classifies the product, we determine which addresses can receive the shipment. If the product is, for example, a medicine or is temperature-sensitive, we know in advance which addresses meet the delivery requirements.

Which online retailers is Premium Home Delivery designed for?

Premium Home Delivery is designed for online retailers shipping regulated products, such as medicines that need to be delivered all the way home and only to addresses where we know the shipment will fit in the mailbox. It is also suitable for temperature-sensitive products that must not be delivered to cold delivery locations, as well as higher-value shipments where the online retailer wants to ensure a secure delivery location.

How do recipients track their parcel?

The recipient receives notifications by email or text message and can track the parcel at any time on Early Bird's tracking page by entering the tracking number.

What happens if delivery is unsuccessful?

If, for any reason, the parcel cannot be delivered to the door or mailbox, it is handed over to another carrier for delivery to a service point. The recipient is kept updated, and the new carrier notifies them when the parcel is ready for collection. This minimises unnecessary returns to the online retailer and makes the process as easy as possible for the recipient.
