Parcel locker delivery – to parcel lockers near your home

With Early Bird Box, recipients get their parcels from the online retailer's warehouse to a parcel locker near their home. The lockers are outdoors and therefore available around the clock, every day of the year. The service also carries the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, making it a climate-smart option with fair working conditions.

How Early Bird Box improves the customer experience

Three steps from your flow to the customer's mailbox or door, without the recipient needing to be present at a specific time.

  1. Secure delivery

Collection from the parcel locker uses Mobile BankID, making handover secure and allowing both age verification and confirmation that the right person collects the parcel.

  2. Nordic Swan Ecolabelled delivery

Early Bird's parcel locker delivery carries the Nordic Swan Ecolabel – an independent ecolabel that sets stringent requirements for climate impact, sustainability and responsibility throughout the delivery chain. Early Bird's Home Delivery is climate-smart, without compromising on speed or convenience.

  3. Near your home and outdoors

Available around the clock, every day of the year. Recipients can walk to the parcel locker and collect their parcel whenever it suits them.

What is Early Bird Box?

Early Bird Box is a smart parcel solution for flexible and secure delivery, without the recipient needing to be at home. The parcel is delivered directly to one of the parcel lockers in Early Bird's locker network, which is available around the clock. As with our other services, parcels travel with newspaper carriers, allowing vehicles and resources to be used more efficiently. Online retailers can send goods requiring age and identity checks, and recipients can collect their parcel whenever it suits them, whether early in the morning or late in the evening. The parcel can be tracked all the way from the warehouse to the locker, and the recipient receives regular notifications by SMS or email. Convenient, secure and sustainable throughout.

The parcel's journey

From the online retailer's warehouse to the parcel locker

Online retailer

The recipient adds an item to their basket and proceeds to checkout. Based on the delivery address and parcel weight, we check whether delivery with Early Bird Box is available. The recipient chooses the parcel locker for delivery. The order is then packed by the online retailer, and the recipient receives a confirmation email stating that the parcel will be shipped with us.

Transport

The online retailer hands the parcel over to Early Bird. The recipient receives a "parcel on its way" notification with a tracking link.

Delivery

The parcel travels together with our other parcels and newspapers and is placed in the locker by one of our newspaper carriers. The recipient is notified when the parcel is ready for collection. The parcel locker is opened using the iBoxen app and Mobile BankID.

Common questions about box delivery

Short answers to what recipients and e-retailers most often wonder.

What coverage does the parcel locker network provide?

We work with iBoxen, which currently has approximately 1,600 parcel lockers across approximately 1,000 locations. They cover approximately 60% of Swedish households within 1 km.

How long does the parcel remain in the locker?

The parcel remains in the locker for five days.

What happens if the parcel is not collected?

If the parcel is not collected within five days, it is returned to the online retailer.

What happens if the selected parcel locker is full?

If the selected parcel locker is full when we attempt delivery, the parcel is sent to a nearby locker. If there is no nearby locker within a reasonable distance, we try to deliver it again the following day.
