The new terminal has the capacity to handle between 30,000 and 40,000 packages per day, contributing to an improvement in both lead times and delivery precision in the region. Early Bird is simultaneously deepening its existing partnership with the distribution company Bonway, which will be responsible for handling and distributing the packages at the new terminal.
"The new terminal in Malmö is an important step to meet the increasing demand in southern Sweden. With increased capacity and a strong partner in Bonway, we can ensure high quality and shorter lead times for our customers," says Sofi Klavacs Karlsson, COO at Early Bird.
"Opening and operating the new terminal together with Early Bird is an exciting milestone for us at Bonway. We have both adjusted our organization to meet the high demand in southern Sweden and invested in a brand-new sorting machine, which will double our package capacity in Malmö. We now look forward to contributing to even sharper delivery precision for our customers," says Marina Frank, Head of Supply Chain at Bonway.
The investment in Malmö is part of Early Bird's long-term strategy to get closer to its customers and create a more efficient and scalable logistics solution across the country.
"The opening of the terminal in Malmö is a natural step in our growth journey. We see strong demand in southern Sweden and are now investing to meet it in a long-term and sustainable way," says Stefan von Stein, CEO of Early Bird.
